Paediatric OT

Paediatric Occupational Therapy is a specialised area where Occupational Therapists (OT) work with children from birth to 18 years. As this specialism is defined by age as opposed to medical condition (such as neurology or rheumatology) there are a vast range of skills required in order to meet the needs of this client group, their families, carers and teachers.

Some areas of work in paediatrics are:

  • Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD)
  • Developmental delay
  • Brain injury / Neurology
  • Amputation
  • Rheumatology
  • Mental Health (often referred to as CAMHS)
